HYDE PARK PARADE GROUND REINSTATEMENT WORKS
The Parade Ground needed to be reinstated in the winter following continued use for major events over the summer. Involving approximately 11ha, this was one of the largest turf reinstatement contracts issued in the UK. Talbot Farm Landscapes understand not only working with such a prestigious client but also what is required to manage the traffic in an open park situation.
This has to be done carefully, taking into consideration the general public and tourists. The remit was to reinstate areas within the park, with multiple constraints — decompact ground taking into account underground services, prepare, cultivate and re-turf to the highest level. Arboriculture is an important factor within Hyde Park due to its specimen trees, so preparation and decompaction had to be considered. Talbot also had to take into account weight restrictions in some areas due to underground car parks.
