WIGAN THREE TIER
The unusual shape of this garden space lends itself to an innovative solution and the contractor has successfully created a garden that maximises the space and extends the outdoor living area. A three tier approach gives each level its own identity: the lower level adjacent to the house provides space for outdoor dining and entertaining; the middle level is ideal for relaxing in the sunshine; and the upper level allows for relaxation in a more sheltered space. This layout also enables the clients to see the entire scheme from their kitchen window. The materials chosen for the garden are in keeping with the property’s brick construction, creating a uniform feel throughout. The bespoke red cedar fencing around the garden perimeter enhances the feeling of space whilst a feature wall, warm lighting, pergola and water feature add detail and character and create a relaxed ambience. Contemporary planting, consisting of box balls and spirals, and colourful perennials and grasses complete the stylish scheme, with a Trachycarpus fortunei (Chusan palm) providing the wow factor.
