THE SOUTH COURTYARD

The client brief for this small but sensitive project was to build a new entrance courtyard and provide a more attractive and defined access route to the main house. Formerly, visitors unfamiliar with the property would find it difficult to locate the main entrance as the front door was largely obscured from the access road. The new scheme, utilising beautiful brick and cobble work, has enhanced the appearance of the property overall and provided a much more open, inviting and welcoming approach to the front door. The design has retained and enhanced the magnolia trees to either side of the entrance gate and lavender now spills over and softens the new walls as visitors approach the farmhouse.
