Community and schools development

The first significant development within the Kew Gardens estate for over a decade, The Children’s Garden is a play and learning environment like no other. Unrestricted by the constraints of the classroom, children of all ages can enjoy this beautiful adventure space unaware they are learning about nature, plants and the environment as they play.

Awarded the design and build contract, the contractor developed Kew’s initial design concept and has transformed an under-used area into a unique space for children where they can play and learn how plants grow. Engagement with the Kew visitors’ community, local community groups, and larger public organisations was vital throughout the design and build phases. All hard landscaping aspects of this scheme, using a myriad of different materials, were meticulously finished and the overall excellent finish achieved despite numerous changes in levels across the site.
